Young man dies after suspected drug overdose at the Beyond The Valley music festival in Gippsland
Police say it’s not yet known whether a young man who died from a suspected drug overdose at a Gippsland music festival had taken the same pills that killed a man at a NSW event.
The 20-year-old died in hospital on Tuesday after attending the Beyond the Valley festival in Warragul.
Police have confirmed the Mansfield man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition on Saturday, but died on Tuesday morning.
It is believed the man suffered a drug overdose, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Another 20-year-old man who attended Beyond The Valley was also taken to hospital in a critical condition on Sunday, but was then upgraded to stable.
It comes after Falls Festival revellers in Lorne received an urgent text message following a death at a music festival in New South Wales.
The Queensland man, 22, died at the Lost Paradise Festival last weekend.
But Victorian police and medical authorities have issued no specific warnings, instead reinforcing that all illicit drugs can kill.
