City of Yarra passes motion for Gaza ceasefire, leaving a councillor ‘very disappointed’
Yarra City Council passed a motion last night calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, leaving a councillor “very disappointed”.
Councillor Herschel Landes was the only councillor who opposed the motion, in what was described as a tense meeting, with the mayor having to call for calm.
“What we saw last night was division in the community,” Councillor Landes told Tony Jones.

Earlier this morning, the federal government also announced it has voted in favour of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
