Woman threatened with a knife in terrifying Hampton home invasion
A 50-year-old woman has allegedly been threatened with a knife during a terrifying home invasion in Melbourne’s south-east.
The woman was home alone when two men entered her home in Highett Road, Hampton at about 11.30pm last night.
They threatened her with a knife and stole the keys to her blue Holden Cruze.
But they didn’t get far.
“I think they may have bunny-hopped and not been so successful because it was a manual,” Leading Senior Constable Natalie Dean told Ross and Russel.
When police caught up with the pair one lashed out and struck an officer in the face.
He was OC sprayed and tried to run, but was arrested by another police unit.
The man is not cooperating with police, and they do not yet know his identity.
A second man, a 26-year-old from Heatherton, has also been arrested.
Both men have been remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
