Man arrested after allegedly fleeing crash in Croydon

UPDATE: Police have arrested a man after he allegedly fled the scene of a crash overnight that left a 62-year-old woman with serious injuries.

Police allege a man driving a Toyota Yaris lost control on Mount Dandenong Road in Croydon about 9.45pm.

It’s alleged the car collided head on with a car coming the other way.

He handed himself into police this afternoon.

Paramedics took the woman to hospital with serious injuries.

She is now listed as stable, and is undergoing surgery on a broken kneecap and will require plastic surgery for head and facial injuries.
