Woman finds bullet on flight to Melbourne

A woman who caught a flight from Queensland to Melbourne admits she got quite the surprise when she found a large bullet casing rolling around on the floor of her flight.

While the bullet had been used, Nicole told Neil Mitchell she wondered how it got on the flight.

“It’s empty, but it’s quite alarming,” she said.

“Especially when you get stopped for something like under-arm spray.”

Eagle-eyed 3AW listeners have since pointed out the bullet is likely a bottle-opener.

Qantas has not received any reports relating to the find.

“The item appears to be a novelty bottle opener but would normally be picked up by the airport’s security screening processes,” the airline said in a statement.
