Worker stabbed at Centrelink in Melbourne’s north-west

A 34-year-old Essendon man has been remanded in custody over the stabbing of a worker at Centrelink at Airport West.

Multiple people called 3AW Afternoons on Tuesday to alert Dee Dee about the incident.

Police have been told a man attacked a woman on Louis Street about 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The victim, aged in her 50s, is in a stable condition in hospital.

It’s being described by police as a totally unprovoked attack.
