Woman fighting for life after Caulfield service station assault

A woman is fighting for life after a serious assault at a service station in Melbourne’s south-east.

Another woman has since been arrested and is assisting police with their investigation.

Emergency services were called to 7/11 on the corner of Hawthorn Road and Pyne Street at about 10.15am on Tuesday.

Investigators have been told a woman poured hot coffee over the female victim, then assaulted her before fleeing.

The 52-year-old victim has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An arrest was made on Tuesday afternoon.

The exact circumstances surrounding the assault are unknown.
