Willie Rioli fined for umpire bum tap, but Jake Carlisle cops suspension
West Coast youngster Willie Rioli has escaped suspension for touching an umpire, but the news isn’t so good for St Kilda’s Jake Carlisle.
Match Review Officer Michael Christian has offered Rioli a $1000 sanction for making “careless contact” with umpire Ray Chamberlain.
The incident attracted significant attention after a series of suspensions and tribunal hearings over umpire contact in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Carlisle faces two weeks on the sidelines for his hit on Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt.
Jack Riewoldt came off the ground after this incident involving Jake Carlisle.
