Williamstown cafe thief’s amateur mistake

Police are hunting a thonged thief who seems to have forgotten the point of masks.

Images have been release of the burglar who hit a Williamstown cafe on January 13.

The man, Caucasian and thought to be aged in his 20s, stole cash from a safe in the Ferguson Street cafe.

“Why has he gone to the trouble of putting on a mask, and then taking it off?” Ross Stevenson pondered to police this morning.
