Wild brawl involving teenagers with machetes erupts in Brighton
A wild brawl has erupted in Brighton this afternoon on Church Street near Middle Brighton Railway Station.
The brawl involved teenagers brandishing machetes with a person defending himself with a shop sign.
“I’m used to this stuff, it happens everyday,” eyewitness Rezza, who works at Barbers of Brighton, told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

Brighton MP James Newbury said the brawl is “really shocking” for the community.
Mr Newbury said chairs and bottles were thrown in the chaotic scenes on a busy Brighton street.
“What does it take for the government to do something? Does someone need to die?” Mr newbury said.

Victoria Police have since released the following statement:
Police were called to reports of a brawl in Brighton on Friday, 23 August.
It is understood teenagers were fighting on Church Street near Middle Brighton Railway Station about 3pm.
The groups fled the scene before police arrived.
There have been no reports of injuries.
