Why you’re likely to be paying more money for fewer hot chips this summer
The cost of chips are likely to rise as a potato shortage from last year’s floods limits supply around Australia.
Queenscliff Harbour Fish and Chip Shop’s John Arslanian told 3AW he’d been forced to halve the amount of chips per serve.
“I ordered two pallets of chips from my supplier and he rang me this morning to tell me he could only send 10 boxes – I use 20 boxes a day in summertime on the weekend,” he said.
