Teenagers are “more engaged than ever” in politics and the voting age should drop to 16 as a result, says the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition.

Justine Landis-Hanley told Tom Elliott the rising cost of living, housing affordability and climate change meant more teenagers were keen to have their say at the polls.

“They don’t have the luxury of political complacency that a lot of people before them did and because of that, they’re really more engaged than ever,” Justine Landis-Hanley said.
