Why the Vatican has banned latin mass from Melbourne’s St Patrick’s Cathedral
The Vatican has banned the latin mass from St Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne’s CBD, drawing criticism from Catholics who consider latin mass “more serious”.
The Australian’s foreign editor, Greg Sheridan, says the Pope is from a generation of liberals “determined to denounce” conservatives Catholics in the church.
“He still thinks the date is 1965 and what we need is to slop off the disciplines and traditions of old-fashioned catholicism,” he told Tony Moclair.
