The Mornington Peninsula wants out of Melbourne.

A new report claims re-zoning the Mornington Peninsula, taking it out of ‘metropolitan Melbourne’ would fix social and economic inequalities.

Business lobby group “Committee for Mornington Peninsula” conducted the report.

But it’s got the backing of at least one councillor.

Councillor David Gill said the classification significantly disadvantaged the area when it came to funding and subsidies.
