Commander Mark Galliott from Victoria Police has explained why police officers didn’t intervene during a chaotic brawl in North Melbourne on the weekend.

3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott questioned why police didn’t take action, with former detective Charlie Bezzina making some strong comments earlier in the program.

“It’s always a risk in making assumptions on a snippet of footage,”  Commander Galliott said.
