Retired pilot shares thoughts on recent Qantas issues in the air

A retired A380 pilot has applauded the “courage” of Qantas pilots for not taking any chances when it comes to safety, telling 3AW technical issues happen more regularly than passengers may think.

He’s also addressed a problem with carry-on luggage that has only got worse since COVID.

A number of Qantas flights have been turned back or forced to land in recent days.

“My point of view is that you’d much rather hear about them, then not turn back,” James Nixon told 3AW.
