Pharmaceuticals have become scarce in recent times, with dozens of common medicines set to run out in months, including antibiotics and medication to treat diabetes and depression.

There have also been reports of parents having to visit up to three or more pharmacies just to obtain medication for their children.

Infectious diseases physician, Professor Peter Collignon, claims this issue has been bubbling along for a while.

“This has been a problem for 30 years,” Professor Collignon told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
