Journalist Peter Greste says he isn’t resentful despite being jailed for over 400 days while working for Al Jazerra over a decade ago.

Mr Greste’s extraordinary story of life in a Cairo prison is about to hit the big screen, with The Correspondent set to be released in cinemas on April 17.

Speaking to Tony Moclair alongside Richard Roxburgh, who plays him in the film, Mr Greste said over the years he’s been able to “add meaning” to being incarcerated.

“Some of the most extraordinary people I met were Egyptian in prison,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.

“The process of talking about it and leveraging it has added meaning to that time behind bars.”
