Geelong captain and AFL Players Association President Patrick Dangerfield has weighed in on the Opening Round debate, stating the round is “still worth the investment” moving forward.

Dangerfield referenced his coach Chris Scott, who spoke out on the debate on AFL 360 earlier in the week.

“Is it always equal? No it’s not. But these are the investments I think that are wise to make from a league perspective,” Dangerfield told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

He also spoke on the new Joel Selwood stand at GMHBA stadium and what makes him “authentic”, the push for Geelong to host finals and whether helmets should be made mandatory in junior football.
