Qantas’ latest on-board safety video has come under fire from the Flight Attendants Association of Australia, largely because none of it is actually filmed on an aircraft.

The national carrier on Tuesday released a nine-minute extended cut of the video, which will be shortened when played on-board.

Flight Attendants Association of Australia Federal Secretary Terri O’Toole said the video felt more like a travel promotional tool than an education on safety.

“We don’t think it’s really hit its target,” she told Tony Moclair on 3AW Afternoons.

“It just isn’t a safety video.”
