Why Leigh Matthews doesn’t agree with Hawthorn’s list cull

AFL great Leigh Matthews has voiced his concerns with Hawthorn’s decision to cull their experienced players in favour of a youthful list.

The Hawks have lost by an average of 70 points over the first two rounds of the season, and Matthews is worried on the dynamic of their list.

“I’m a little bit of a cynic of the completely star cull, like virtually all experience has been pushed out of the Hawthorn team,” Matthews said.
