Why Leigh Matthews disagrees with Luke Beveridge’s holding the ball complaints

AFL legend Leigh Matthews thinks coaches shouldn’t complain about how the holding the ball rule is adjudicated.
Matthews holds the view that the league has taken the correct measures to ensure players with the ball are not harshly punished.
“Whenever coaches talk about the rules of the game, I take it with a grain of salt,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.

“Unlike Luke Beveridge and coaches for that matter, I prioritise the guy with the ball to get most of the rights.
“I think the evolution of the game right now is quite good.”
