Why Kevin Sheedy addressed the Liberal Party room

Victoria’s deputy Liberal Party leader says he hopes an address from legendary AFL coach Kevin Sheedy will help spur the opposition to and unlikely victory in the upcoming state election.

Neil Mitchell found it odd Sheedy was speaking at parliament, but said he was fascinated by it.

David Southwick told 3AW it was “great to be able to hear from somebody who knows how to win” in the lead-up to the election.

“It’s an important year for us,” he said.

“This is effectively our final quarter of football in an election year.”
