Why being rude to your doctor is a bad idea

New research suggests patients should avoid being rude to doctors and nurses who treat them in hospital.

A study of intensive care units has found criticising doctors and nurses while they’re caring for you or a loved one increases the risk of potentially catastrophic errors.

Professor Amir Erez from the University of Florida has told Ross and John rudeness affects a person’s cognitive system. 

‘What we found was rudeness affects your cognitive system,’ he said.

‘You can’t think properly and you’re not even aware of it.’
