Why a cemetery in Melbourne’s south-east has left a mum horrified

A mother has been left horrified after a cemetery alerted her of their plans to remove her son’s ashes.

Inna Vainer says she raised concerns with Bunarong Memorial Park about the lake next to where her son is buried but was told it was “fine.”

“Two years into it, when we visited the park, we noticed orange witches’ hats all put around entire perimeter [sic] of the lake, with chains and signs not to get close … the chain was going across my son’s grave which was extremely distressful,” she told Neil Mitchell.
