The rules of engagement are being tested in the County Court of Victoria, where builder Constantinos Hatzis is demanding his former fiancée return a two-carat diamond ring and other jewellery worth more than $100,000.

Head of family law at Lander & Rogers Mark Parker provided his insight on this situation on 3AW Breakfast.

“The law generally is that an engagement ring is a conditional gift.” Parker said on 3AW Breakfast.
