Who Eddie McGuire thinks should be the next chairman of the AFL

Eddie McGuire thinks South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas is the best possible candidate to become the next chairman of the AFL.

Speaking on the Eddie and Jimmy podcast, McGuire stated Richard Goyder “wants to go around again” for another three years, but if the timing is right, Malinauskas should take over.

“I’d be lining up Peter Malinauskas to be the next chairman of the AFL,” McGuire said.

“Now, he will have to make a choice between possibly being Prime Minister of Australia.

“If I was the AFL, don’t get the best available, go get the best. I’d go and pay him whatever he wants to be chairman.”
