Independent MP Zoe Daniel says she has a number of questions about where both major parties sit on the Suburban Rail Loop.

The federal opposition leader, Peter Dutton, has committed to scrapping $2.2 billion worth of federal funding for the major project if the Coalition wins government in the upcoming election

Ms Daniel, who currently holds the seat of Goldstein, told Tom Elliott aspects of her view on the rail project aligned with both parties.

“I’ve said previously that no further federal money should be allocated to it unless the business case stacks up,” she said on 3AW Mornings.

“I would say that one issue we have, when you have a project that is underway and you have contracts that have already been signed, I’m interested in the detail about how the federal opposition is going to encourage its state counterpart to extricate itself from the project (if that’s how it plays out).”
