A solar eclipse will be visible across Australia today.

The total eclipse will only be visible in Exmouth, Western Australia, but people elsewhere in the country can still view a partial eclipse. In Melbourne, the solar eclipse will occur between 1.15pm and 3.01pm.

Expert in solar astrophysics at the University of Sydney warns skygazers not to look directly at the sun.
