What was ‘fascinating’ about Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention
Donald Trump has spoken publicly at the Republican National Convention today for the first time since the attempt on his life last week in Butler, Pennsylvania.
US correspondent Jonathan Kearsley joined 3AW Drive to speak about the event which Jacqui Felgate labelled “theatrical to say the least”.
“It’s been an extraordinary day for Donald Trump,” Mr Kearsley said.

“There is serious concern over Joe Biden, that it could be a matter of days now before he may well call time on his presidential run,” Mr Kearsley said.
Non-resident fellow at the United States Studies Centre, Victoria Cooper, who specialises in US domestic politics then spoke about what the most “poignant” part of Trump’s speech was.
“I think at that moment, you could see the crowd, many members of the crowd were crying,” Ms Cooper said.
