What Tom Elliott founds interesting about Airport rail link report

Tom Elliott says there was a particularly interesting detail in the recently-released report into the Melbourne Airport rail link, which concluded the service simply had to be built to protect Victoria’s economic growth.

The 3AW Mornings host said following the release of the report, the role of the current SkyBus – which transports passengers to the airport via the busy Tullamarine Freeway – would be a major talking point.

“The Airport rail link has a major competitor and that is the SkyBus,” Tom Elliott said.

“Some people might say – if it has a dedicated lane on the freeway, why don’t we stick with that? But the problem is the Tullamarine Freeway.”
