What the pensioner who berated the PM was likely fuming over
A fuming pensioner has unleashed on Scott Morrison at a pub in Newcastle.
The man, who said he was a disability pensioner, roasted the Prime Minister at the Edgeworth Tavern last night.
“You’d better f—ing do something,” the punter was heard saying.
“A disability pensioner that’s worked all his life, paid all his taxes, now he’s getting taxed again,” he said.
Scott Morrison has squeezed in a last-minute visit to a tavern at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales.
But it seems he didn’t pass the pub test for one man. #9News pic.twitter.com/q9LVlnbz1O

Chief Advocate for National Seniors Australia, Ian Henschke, said based on what the pensioner said, he’s recently reached aged pension age and swapped off the disability pension.
“If you’re a disability pensioner then you have different rules I understand than you do if you’re an aged pensioner,” he told Tom Elliott.
“He could have gone from being on a disability pension – where he could have worked … now he would have become and aged pensioner and he’s seeing his pension cut and he’s so angry about it.”
Under current rules, aged pensioners can earn up to $300 a fortnight from work before they lose pension entitlements.
He says it’s a “hot button issue” that would impact millions of Australians.
“This is such a simple thing to fix for the government.”
