Sly of the Underworld has weighed in on the news of exiled deputy commissioner Neil Paterson’s push for an independent panel to help choose Victoria’s next top cop.
Sly explained the process in which a new chief commissioner is selected, and what ideally should be done in his view.
“There is no doubt that the government interferes too much in police operational matters,” Sly said on 3AW Breakfast.
