Father Kevin Dillon is well-known for his community work, and often outspoken views about how the church has poorly handled the issue child sexual abuse.

But how did he become the person he is?

Father Dillon spoke about his formative years, including a stint in the army cadets and public service job where he sat opposite Molly Meldrum.

But it was visits to hospital while in the seminary that “cemented” his desire to become a priest.
