Jimmy Bartel wants to see a ‘tactical sub’ replace the medical sub for next season.

It comes after the AFL are considering changing rules related to the medical sub before the start of the 2023 season.

The 3AW Football analyst has one condition for the tactical sub, it can’t be a debutant.

“It’s garbage, if their good enough to play, they’ve got to be good enough to be in the starting 22,” Bartel said in regards to debutants being named as the medical sub last season.
