What is really going on with the current price of beef

People are questioning why the cost of beef is still high when cattle prices have dropped significantly.

Managing director of Meat and Livestock Australia, Jason Strong, says it’s hard to reconcile the prices but there is a reason.

“What’s happened in the last 12 months is that livestock price has crashed, it’s really come off those highs, back to levels that lasted 10-15 years, and the retail price … it hasn’t come back near anywhere as much,” he told Tom Elliott.
