What Craig Foster thinks Australia must do to capitalise on the Socceroos’ success
Craig Foster says it’ll take a new national agenda for Australia to progress to the next level in soccer.
The former Socceroo says the World Cup is “the last great sporting challenge for a great sporting nation” and while a focus on improving coaching has gone a long way towards lifting the nation’s performance, to take the next step the focus must shift to the players.
“We need a new national program to develop a new generation of players and that should be in the primary schools and we need to start younger,” Foster told Wide World of Sports.
