What caused Jenny Craig’s demise

Has Jenny Craig failed to move with the times? According to a dietician that might be the case.

Jenny Craig America went bankrupt last week and its Australian and New Zealand counterpart has now entered voluntary administration.

Accredited dietician and chief health officer at HealthyLife, Simone Austin, told Neil Mitchell that the weight-loss industry might need to begin at looking at what it’s offering to be able to stay afloat.

“We need a much more holistic look at health,” Ms Austin said.

Ms Austin suspects that the way Australians engage with the weight-loss industry has changed as well.

“Perhaps some of that diet culture is going,” she said.
