An offal mess: 300 kilograms of animal carcass spread across a Melbourne road
Hundreds of kilograms of offal are spread across a road in Melbourne’s west.
There was a minor collision between a car and a truck on Boundary Road in Laverton North, causing 300 kilograms of offal to spill from the truck onto the road.
“The offal has left the trailer and come up over the cab and landed on the front,” Chris Miller from the Department of Transport told Elise Elliott, filling in for Dee Dee.
The waste is on part of the detour route for the West Gate Tunnel works, and delays are building.
Motorists headed for the Princes Freeway are advised to exit at Fitzgerald Road.
City-bound drivers are warned to expect delays.

UPDATE: Both right-turn lanes are closed on the Boundary Road exit ramp from the M80 Ring Road Altona-bound, while an offal spill is cleared. All drivers need to turn left towards the Little Boundary Road roundabout to u-turn. #victraffic pic.twitter.com/2CRNNNB0UG
