West Coast midfielder sprays the AFL in extraordinary attack

West Coast midfielder Chris Masten has launched an extraordinary attack on the AFL, calling proposed changes to the game “ridiculous” and “stupid”.

Masten was asked on Macquarie Sports Radio what he thought of starting positions and other potential changes to the game.

He didn’t hold back.

“I’m glad you asked this question,” he said.

“I think the AFL is ridiculous.

“Maybe just leave the sport alone and it’ll get figured out?

“I don’t agree with it. I think it’s stupid.”

However, he expects that plea to fall on deaf ears.

“The AFL literally just do what they want,” Masten said.

“Especially coming from Western Australia, it’s as if we’re irrelevant over here.

“Nobody is going to listen. But all good.”
