A relieved Max Gawn joined 3AW straight after the Dees’ first victory of 2025, defeating Fremantle by 10 points at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

The Dees skipper said the last quarter was “probably as important of a last quarter we’ve played for a long time” as they held off the Dockers to relieve some pressure on Simon Goodwin and the team.

“I’ve felt sorry for our supporters over the last five weeks because we know what we’re building,” Gawn told 3AW Football’s Jacqui Reed.

“I know this isn’t a strong media narrative but we’ve been moving the ball okay from back half to forward half, we just haven’t been scoring.”
