Potholes are reportedly getting worse through the state with confusion growing around compensation.

Chief executive officer of the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce, Geoff Gwilym says road users should be getting full compensation for issues which fall under the state government’s responsibility.

“If you wreck the front end of your car because the government haven’t been smart enough to keep them in good repair, I think you should be able to claim the whole lot back,” he told Neil Mitchell.

Mr Gwilym also says he sent a freedom of information order to VicRoads.

“I was after … five year data to see what the trend on accidents and claims were,” he said.
