Wanted man found sleeping, trapped in apartment wall cavity
A homeless man who allegedly broke into a Melbourne apartment building before becoming stuck in a wall cavity has been rescued and arrested.
The man, 31, initially broke into the Elizabeth Street building about 3am yesterday and went straight to the bathroom.
Staff found the man when they arrived at the building about three hours later.
The man had crawled through a manhole in the roof and fell into the wall cavity.
When found, he was asleep.
Emergency services were called and able to cut him out.
He was then swiftly arrested.
Police say the homeless man was wanted on a number of warrants related to burglary and theft offences.
