A man has been arrested over a double stabbing after crashing his car trying to escape police at Kensington.

Shannon alerted Tom Elliott to the drama on Tuesday afternoon.

“There is probably 20 coppers here,” he said after spotting the car crash on Kensington Road.

Police have since confirmed the pursuit took place in relation to an incident at Ascot Vale on Monday night.

A man and woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Police found the man on Tuesday afternoon and attempted to intercept him on Kensington Road just before 2pm.

The man fled and struck a tree further along the road.

The 56-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

All parties are believed to be known to each other.

He is expected to be interviewed later tonight.
