Victoria’s population has plunged again.
There were 33,000 less people in the state in the year to last October.
The COVID-19 pandemic is the obvious factor at play.
But not everybody wants those numbers to bounce back.
Clifford Hayes, Upper House MP for the Southern Metropolitan Region with the Sustainable Australia Party, says Victoria shouldn’t be relying on population growth for economic recovery.
