Victorians stranded in NSW caravan park say they’ve been ‘totally dumped’
A group of about 40 Victorians stranded at a caravan park in northern NSW say they’ve been “totally dumped” by the Victorian government.
Grey nomad Cathy Samuels and her partner have been stuck at a caravan park in Sawtell for two months, and fears they may be there for months yet.
“There’s about 20 other caravans in the same situation,” she told Neil Mitchell.
“We’re feeling stranded, just totally dumped — Dan has dumped us.”
Ms Samuels says she doesn’t understand why people can transit through NSW from Queensland and enter Victoria, but she can’t return from northern NSW.
“If we were coming from Queensland you can get a pass and they’ll let them transit through NSW,” she said.
“Why are they discriminating against us?
“We’ve had our double doses of the vaccination.”
Ms Samuels says she’d be happy to isolate at her Melbourne home for 14 days after returning to Victoria.
