A group of Victorian teachers have hit the streets this afternoon, protesting the proposed Victorian Government Schools Agreement they say doesn’t go far enough.

Lucy Honan, Spokesperson for Melbourne Educators for Social and Environmental Justice, told Tom Elliott the current offer was insulting.

They’re calling for a pay rise above inflation, instead of the two per cent currently offered, and an increase in superannuation of 16.5 per cent.

They’re also demanding the proposed agreement be amended to reduce the number of face-to-face teaching hours to 18 hours and a “firm cap” on classes of no more than 20 students.

“It’s just not good enough,” Lucy Honan said.
