Victorian government tightens COVID-19 rules, announces new vaccine mandate
Workers in multiple sectors must get their third COVID-19 vaccination by February 12 to keep working, under new government laws.
The Victorian government announced the news on Monday.
Those working in healthcare, aged care, disability care, emergency services, correctional facilities, quarantine accommodation and food distribution will be required to have their third jab by that date.
Workplaces must record proof of vaccination.
Meanwhile, indoor dancefloors will be banned in Victoria from midnight on Wednesday.
Venues can still operate and there are no changes to density limits, however there is a “strong recommendation” for hospitality venues to operate with seated service only.
Victorians are being strong encouraged to work from home, if possible.
