Victorian families warned after dingoes passed off as kelpie pups

Unsuspecting families are being sold dingoes passed off as kelpie puppies.

Director of the Australian Dingo Foundation, Lynn Watson, says there’s no reliable way to visibly distinguish dingo puppies from kelpies, but their behaviour is very different.

“A dingo puppy is like a cat — it’s not remotely interested in obeying you or adoring you … It’s almost impossible to keep in a domestic situation,” she told 3AW’s Heidi Murphy.
