Victoria Police condemn ‘confronting’ and ‘disappointing’ Pride March protestors
Victoria Police has condemned a violent protest which broke out at a pride march in Melbourne on Sunday.
Police – who were taking part in the Midsumma Pride March in St Kilda – were confronted by a group of protestors, who believe the police force shouldn’t be participating in the march.

Chief Commissioner Shane Patton told Jacqui Felgate says the scenes were “confronting” and “disappointing”.
“I’m just really disappointed (the protest has) detracted from what should’ve been a day of celebration,” he said.
